Description:
In this role, you will implement the global energy, CO2 and water management and reduction program across all West facilities to support West’s global sustainability strategy and targets. You shall implement the program across the global facilities to ensure a consistent approach on how all facilities approach energy and water efficiency. You will lead energy audits and assist in project implementation across manufacturing sites globally. You will work as part of project teams to deliver projects providing direct energy benefits and seek opportunities for innovative funding options. You will review energy reports to identify discrepancies in usage patterns and to extract energy savings opportunities from the usage patterns.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Carry out energy, CO2 and water use audits and opportunity surveys.
- Develop energy, CO2 and water saving opportunities into project concepts.
- Maintain a register of energy, CO2 and water opportunities and opportunities executed.
- Lead energy efficient design reviews for projects.
- Implement life cycle assessment methodologies across projects.
- Verify energy, CO2 and water performance improvement.
- Ensure energy, CO2 and water use data is gathered and recorded.
- Create, review and report on site energy and water consumption and CO2 emissions including annual report to global stakeholders.
- Support site subject matter experts to implement structured energy, CO2 and water reduction programs.
- Support site subject matter experts to prepare CO2 impact assessments for project expenditure requests.
- Support site subject matter experts in development of their expertise through training, coaching and mentoring.
- Work with local partners to identify grant funding for energy and water use reduction projects or initiatives.
- Assist in compiling corporate sustainability reporting requirements (CSRD) for Energy & Water.
- Establish and maintain global enterprise guidance documents to support and standardize energy and water efficient operations in facilities.
- Lead the global energy engineering network / community of practice
Additional Responsibilities
Education
- Bachelor’s degree/Masters or equivalent in Building Service Engineering / Energy Engineering / Sustainable Energy Engineering / Energy Management or related technical discipline.
Work Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in Energy Engineering for the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical or medical device industry.
- Good working knowledge of MS office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.
- Knowledge and experience in energy and CO2 auditing, energy conservation, consumption forecasting, modeling through the life cycle and associated cost/benefits analysis.
- Ability to identify and quantify energy-saving opportunities in industrial facilities.
