Description:

The purpose of the roles' responsibility covers the collection and quality assessment / validation of data from reporting institutions, assisting in testing during updates and development of statistical systems, and assisting in the development of statistical reporting and tables for publication in order to disseminate statistics to meet the functional requirements of the bank. This role will also support the analytical work of the Statistics Division.

Roles are available across the Division at this time and candidates would be welcome to express an interest in macro, granular or balance sheet statistics in their application.

  • Collect monthly and quarterly data from entities and perform validation of data to ensure reporting requirements have been met and data is accurate.
  • Liaise with entities to clarify, challenge and resolve queries arising from validation process to safeguard the integrity of the statistical output and achieve this within the necessary timeframes.
  • Proactively manage datasets to improve accuracy, quality and consistency.
  • Collate and perform analysis of data provided by entities to meet the statutory obligations of the Bank, produce publications and input into reports and other analytical outputs.
  • Process technical queries from external agencies such as the ECB, BIS, IMF, credit institutions, investment funds etc. and any other ad-hoc queries from the public and senior management to ensure these queries are addressed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform ad-hoc research activities for economic analysis projects to contribute to the overall output of the Statistics team.
  • Liaise with other teams and participate in divisional projects (including creating test cases and testing), as needed, to contribute to the overall output of the Statistics team.
  • Third level qualification, preferable in a quantitative discipline.
  • Understanding of ECB statistical reporting requirements.
  • 2 years relevant experience in data intensive environment.
  • Experience in analysing and working with large and/or granular data sets in either a data quality or analytical capacity.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
  • Strong IT skills, advanced Excel skills, Power BI and SQL skills.
  • Understanding of reporting templates
  • Strong communication skills particularly stakeholder engagement skills
  • Enthusiasm and ability to deal with queries from reporting agents.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
