Mechanical Maintenance Fitter

Our client is the market leader in the supply and maintenance of centrifuges and decanters to various industries in the Irish marketplace is looking to expand its field service team with the addition of a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter.

 

Reporting to the Service Manager, the position is ideally based in and around the Munster region, but all suitable applicants will be considered.

 

General responsibilities include:

  • Repair and maintenance of centrifugal production equipment such as Clarifiers, Decanters, and Separators at different customer sites throughout Ireland. Typical industries include Dairy, Beverage/Brewing, Pharmaceutical, and Environmental industries.
  • Logically work through diagnosing breakdown situations to return the machine to production as soon as possible.
  • Document all aspects of maintenance work carried out through written reporting and regular communication with the Service Manager.
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication with the service office based in Cork regarding additional parts or support required while on site.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Have prior experience working as a Maintenance Fitter within a manufacturing/industrial business.
  • Have a practical approach to fault finding together with a sound understanding of preventative maintenance.
  • Have good communication skills, be enthusiastic, hardworking, and energetic.
  • Be flexible to meet peak work demands as required.
  • Have the ability to manage time and perform duties to customer deadlines.
  • Be expected to work as part of a flexible, committed, and self-motivated team.
  • Be able to work extended hours and away from home when necessary.
  • Have a full, driving license.
