Become a key member of the exciting new Acute Trauma Rehabilitation ward (St Gemma’s). This is an opportunity to contribute to a vital component of the Major Trauma Centre designated to the Mater Misericordiae University hospital as part of the National Trauma Strategy. You will have a fundamental role in providing exceptional care and support to individuals on their journey to recovery.

As a dedicated Acute Trauma Rehabilitation Nurse your primary responsibility will be to deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients who have experienced severe injuries. You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

• Providing skilled ,compassionate care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to create individualised care plans and set goals for recovery.

• Assess and monitor your patient’s physical, emotional and psychosocial needs.

• Monitoring progress ,administering medications and implementing treatment plans and therapeutic interventions

• Strong organisational skills.

• Flexibility to adapt to an evolving healthcare environment.

• Provide support to patients in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team ,promoting a positive and encouraging environment throughout their rehabilitation journey

• Organisation of safe, timely and appropriate discharge in conjunction which local community rehabilitation teams in the management of people with more complex needs.

• Empower yourself and others through patient advocacy.

• Continue your professional development embracing the culture of education and learning which is an integral part of the Mater Misericordiae University’s hospital ethos.
