Financial Accountant

This position offers a strong foundation in core financial accounting while also giving exposure to management reporting and systems improvement. Working across multiple legal entities and reporting lines, you'll gain experience in month-end close, audit preparation, and financial systems enhancement. Who should apply?

Ideal for newly qualified accountants who want to build their expertise in financial accounting within a dynamic and values-driven finance function:

• Recently qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA (from small practice or industry)
• 3+ years’ experience in financial or management accounting
• Financial services experience preferable but not essential
• Strong Excel skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience in preparing or reviewing financial statements and management accounts
• Comfortable working across multiple entities or workstreams
• Exposure to financial systems or MI reporting tools an advantage
• Strong communication and organisational skills

Role and Reporting Lines

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role offers broad involvement in the day-to-day finance function, including:

• Month-End Close – Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts with supporting reconciliations
• Financial Reporting – Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and group reporting packs
• Audit Preparation – Assist with audit file preparation and liaise with external auditors
• Entity Oversight – Work across multiple companies and product books
• Budgeting & Forecasting – Provide support in the planning process through data gathering and reconciliation
• MI Reporting – Maintain internal reports used by the management team and board
• Process Improvement – Contribute to the development of internal controls and financial reporting systems
• Cross-Functional Liaison – Provide accurate data and reporting to support wider business units
