Our client is seeking an experienced Virtualisation Architect to join their growing technology team in Dublin. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise-level IT infrastructure solutions, with a strong focus on virtualization, cloud technologies, and secure digital workplace platforms. You’ll work closely with architecture, security, and operations teams to support the bank’s digital transformation and cloud strategy while contributing to seamless digital experiences for customers.
Role Overview
As a Virtualisation Architect, you will:
- Design and implement AVD, Windows 365, and Dev Box solutions.
- Develop automation for scaling, image management, and updates.
- Drive environment optimisation and best-practice security across VDI platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across AVD environments.
- Configure and support FSLogix for user profiling.
- Produce high-quality HLD/LLD documentation and project artefacts.
- Deliver technical knowledge transfer, mentoring, and training to support teams.
- Collaborate closely with the wider architecture team on solution design and standards.
Experience & Skills Required
Core Virtualisation & VDI Expertise
- Proven background as a Virtualisation Architect with strong hands-on experience in VDI technologies: AVD, Citrix, Windows 365, Dev Box, etc.
- Experience designing and implementing AVD, W365 & Dev Box solutions.
- Strong background in building Production and DR architectures.
- Experience configuring and deploying FSLogix in AVD.
- Ability to optimise host pools, apply security controls, and tune VDI environments.
- Experience with application modernisation, MSIX App Attach, and relevant 3rd-party tooling.
Cloud, Platform & Security Skills
- Solid experience with Azure services: AAD/AADS, RBAC, Storage, Policies, Backup, Azure Firewall, UDR, File Shares, AVD Security, Azure Monitor.
- Good understanding of Group Policy, Active Directory, and registry configurations.
- Exposure to automation and scripting (PowerShell, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of session host performance tuning and diagnostics.
Endpoint & Security Ecosystem
- Experience with Windows Client & Server OS and Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager.
- Knowledge of Intune compliance & configuration policies, Defender for Endpoint, device encryption, Defender for 365 & Identity, Sentinel, Conditional Access, and broader Microsoft cloud security integrations.
Nice to Have
- Experience with 3rd-party tools such as Nerdio, Hydra, Liquit.
- Certifications: CCP, AZ-140, ITIL, AZ-104 (advantageous).
- Exposure to automation frameworks such as DevOps, Terraform, Bicep.
